In a typical game of Twilight Struggle, the draw deck will reshuffle while dealing out the cards for Turns 3 and 7. Occasionally, the deck will reshuffle immediately before Turn 10 as well. What this means is that cards can fall into one of several categories: Any card played or discarded on Turns 1. The Twilight Struggle Turn Zero and Promo Packs expansion were initially offered only to backers in the Kickstarter campaign for the digital edition of Twilight Struggle and a brief one-day 'first-come-first-served sale' a couple of years ago. Based on customer requests, these expansions have been printed with card backs in the style of the Twilight Struggle Deluxe Edition. The Turn Zero expansion adds twelve new cards and a new starting point for Twilight Struggle. Also included in the expansion pack are rules for a new Optional Space Race Track, to add variability to your Twilight Struggle experience. 4.1 Twilight Struggle has ten turns. Each turn represents between three and five years, and will involve six or seven normal card plays by each player. At the beginning of the game, each player receives eight cards from the Early War deck. At the beginning of turn 4, the Mid War deck is shuffled into the draw pile and the players’ hand size.

Based on customer requests, we are going to recreate these expansions that will be identical to the Kickstarter packs in every way, except that these will be printed with card backs in the standard style of the TS Deluxe Edition card backs. So those of you with the many versions of Twilight Struggle can just drop these expansion cards into your decks.
Each of the two Promo Packs includes four new cards for the game, some including 'What if' alternate history additions to the game. The Turn Zero expansion adds twelve new cards and a new starting point for Twilight Struggle. Also included in the expansion pack are rules for a new Optional Space Race Track, to add variability to your Twilight Struggle experience.
Twilight Struggle: What If? is a new mini-expansion that lets players explore alternate starting situations for the two superpowers. What if Chiang's forces had held on in southern China? What if Churchill's Tories had won re-election in 1945? And what if the Western Allies had crossed the bridge too far, and reached Berlin first? These and other possibilities that alter the opening setup in Twilight Struggle are now open to players. Both seasoned veterans and new arrivals will enjoy the many new plays and dilemmas introduced here for the first time. This expansion will contain 8 cards, one set of charts and tables, and the rules on how to play with the expansion.
